Byzantino
Casale Panayiotis Traditional Village - Cyprus
Casale Panayiotis is a rural mountain retreat nestled in the Marathasa Valley of the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus. The design of the two ‘Byzantino’ guest rooms was inspired by the interior of the 11th century Byzantine monastery of Agios Ioannis Lampadistis, just across the valley. Materials such as carved wood, rich red velvet and burnished brass accents, all nestled within a centuries-old stone structure, elicit a serene monastic ambience. Throughout the space, I designed traditional pieces, hand=crafted by local craftsmen to bring a personal expression to the contemplative backdrop, inviting guests to relax in understated luxury.
